Queerky started with a simple question: What happens to Pride when the flags disappear?

While working in the accessories industry, I helped supply Pride flags to a major retailers. We often had surplus stock, and I began donating those extra flags to LGBTQ+ organizations. The response was immediate—and sobering. Many of them shared how often their flags were stolen or damaged. In some communities, simply flying a Pride flag was an act of courage.

Then the retailer stopped carrying the flags altogether. At the same time, companies and institutions across the country began rolling back their DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) programs. Support for the LGBTQ+ community was shrinking—not just in words, but in visibility.

That hit home for me. I love walking into small shops on Main Street and seeing a Pride sticker in the window or a flag by the door—it makes me feel safe, seen, and welcome. When those signs disappear, so does that sense of belonging.

That’s when I created Queerky—a queer-owned accessories brand built around bold, expressive designs and real community impact. We make hats, totes, stickers, and headwraps that reflect queer joy, identity, and resistance.

And we don’t stop there. A portion of every sale goes toward donating Pride flags to organizations and small businesses that still believe in showing up and being seen—especially when it’s not easy.

Because representation matters. And no one should have to fight just to fly a flag.
